Daniel’s team was successful in being awarded an industrial re-development scheme on a brownfield site in Deal, Kent. The scheme involved creation of a new 10,000sq.ft builders merchants, and a 7,000sq.ft row of commercial trade counter units on adjacent land.
Ground Improvement Works
The site was of very low quality structurally, so extensive remediation had to be undertaken. This involved dynamic compaction techniques which had been used on a recent scheme for Glenmore.
Steel Frame Building Construction
Having completed the groundworks, the industrial units were erected on ground bearing floor slabs and pad foundations. Building construction was traditional portal steel framing with insulated cladding.
Installation of Site Drainage Systems
The site had extensive drainage attenuation requirements and a package pumping station was installed to manage the foul water systems on the site.
The site was completed in 10 months at a cost of £1.3m.
