A remodel of an existing steel frame building on an industrial estate just off the A40. This was our third build for the Big Box Self Storage company; which would be acquired by StorageMart in 2016.
The project involved raising the roof by approximately 4m and then extending the whole building forward by 6m. The site conditions required the ground to be piled which was completed using driven concrete piles.
Energy-Efficient Design and Build
The whole project was undertaken to achieve a BREEAM Good rating and as such is a highly-efficient and modern facility.
Building Remodelling and Construction
The existing building was remodelled by demolishing the masonry elements to the front and removing the existing cladding.
External Works
New fencing and an automatic sliding gate were erected in order to finish the remodel to an exceptionally high standard.
This project took 6 months to complete at a cost of £0.9m.
